Introduction to Camera Framing PowerPoint

Image
Camera Framing in Film allows us to see different placement and positions of our favorite characters. Camera Framing shows us all of these exotic positions that we can see certain characters in. Camera Framing has made a great impact on film and without it the cinematography falls flat. In my example seen below we see multiple different shots from multiple movies. All of the scenes I picked are somewhat iconic to fans of these film to show that every scene has some sort of importance. The shot of batman over joker's shoulder shows Batman's dominance over him. This scene would not be as impactful if that shot was not used.

Introduction to Camera Composition

Image
Camera composition in film is very important because it is needed so a photographer can arrange visual elements in their frame. In my example you below I showcase the many forms of camera composition seen in film. Each of my examples below showcase why these are needed, and the impact added because of the composition. Camera Composition is necessary in film and without its photographers would have a hard time getting the point of the scene across. Spiderman is used in my example below to highlight the struggle he is going through in the scene. In the scene from the social experiment, we see mark blurred out because he will end up losing the argument. Camera composition made the outcome of these scenes obvious, and it further proves that it is necessary.

Introduction to Camerawork Warm-Up Preliminary Exercise 6

Image
For this preliminary exercise I watched many videos each of these angles. The videos were very good and even gave multiple abbreviations and examples of each shot. I learned about the shots I see in television and film almost every day. This exercise showed me the importance of using different shots and the importance of the placement of these shots. This exercise was an amazing learning experience. We did not work with a group on this assignment as it was a warmup. I feel like without the groups made it a more interesting exercise because all of our designs and interpretations on camerawork were original. Each shot has its own specific use in the film industry. For example, a medium shot can be seen in all types of film like your iconic avenger's movie or your underground indie movie. Every shot amounts to some sort of significance.

Mise en scene Elements: Hair and Makeup

Image
Hair and makeup are by far the least necessary element of mise en scene. Hair in film is used just to add a minor feature to characters. Makeup is more important than hair, but it is not that important either. Makeup in film is used to change the appearance of actors which can sometime necessary especially for effects. Both of these elements are minimal, but they have their uses sometimes. In my examples shown below are very bare bones because of the little use hair and makeup has in film. I do believe that in some cases makeup and hair can be useful to make the movie look more polished. It also can affect peoples perception on the movie because of the quality. Overall hair and makeup are very minimal in film and is rarely brought up. I feel that it's a very minimal element of mise en scene. elements in film.

Mise en scene Elements: Costume

Image
Costumes in film are definitely not as necessary as other elements. The costumes in film do have some significant use. Costumes in film can tell us what type of personality the character has and what is going on with them currently. The style of characters also gives us a rough idea of their personality. This is not as key as the other elements because acting can already tell us the characters personality. In my examples below you see me annotating characters costumes in film. I am doing this to see what I can find out about characters through their costumes. I was able to find out basic information about these characters through costumes. This element is not as key because actors already exsert these things mention. Costumes are of course important, but it is on the lower side of being necessary. minimal

Mise en scene Elements: Acting

Image
Mise en scene element acting is used to create the characters we love on screen. Acting is by far the most necessary element in mise en scene. Without acting scenes would feel flat and characters would be unlikeable. Picking people to play these characters is often the hardest part of acting. Once the perfect actor is on screen the film truly becomes alive. In my example of the concept, we seen the character almost on the brink of death having lost all hope. In this concept we seen what type of mannerisms and the body language the character exhibits. Without these elements the scene would not resonate with viewers as we would not understand anything happening in this scene. Acting is very key in mise en scene because the actor is just as important as the character. Without acting there would be no film.

Mise en scene Elements: Setting

Image
Mise en scene and the element of setting is used to set up where the movie will mostly take place. The setting also lets us know what type of vibe the movie is going for. Setting is such a huge part of film because it can clarify what type of themes the movie can be going for. The setting in film is also a huge part in a films cinematography or how a character's emotions are seen. Setting is a very important part of mise en scene. In my example we see multiple depictions of setting playing a huge part in conveying these characters emotions. In all of the examples the setting helps convey a message and it sets the tone for the scene. The setting also can give us an idea of what is happening without having to hear anything. Setting in film is a great concept and it will always be essential in film. Without setting we would miss a lot of things being conveyed in the film.     1`
