Mise en scene Elements: Hair and Makeup

Hair and makeup are by far the least necessary element of mise en scene. Hair in film is used just to add a minor feature to characters. Makeup is more important than hair, but it is not that important either. Makeup in film is used to change the appearance of actors which can sometime necessary especially for effects. Both of these elements are minimal, but they have their uses sometimes.

In my examples shown below are very bare bones because of the little use hair and makeup has in film. I do believe that in some cases makeup and hair can be useful to make the movie look more polished. It also can affect peoples perception on the movie because of the quality. Overall hair and makeup are very minimal in film and is rarely brought up. I feel that it's a very minimal element of mise en scene.
