Preliminary Exercise 3 B: Introduction to Genre Conventions Bubble Organizer

Genre in film is the category that defines what the film will styled to be like. The genre is important because it allows the audience to know what to expect in the film and they can get a general understanding of the premise. 3 genres that I am interested in are horror, action, and mystery. Horror genres typically aim to scare the audience or disgust them with darker themes, and they touch on heavier topics while action genres are usually simpler and involves a protagonist in a series in events that involves using some form of violence to stop the antagonist, mystery genres are more secretive and contain darker colors to build upon mystery usually revealed at the end of the movie. I selected these genres because I like stories that are easily accessible and have a broader audience.

The media text used is print media and it is supposed to engage my audience with its audience. For this assignment we were instructed to learn about mise en scene and to see how they come together in film. I learned about each element of mise en scene why they were important and how to spot when it is being used. I worked with one other person named Ezert and we split the work in half. We took the other exercises and built upon that in order to make this organizer better.
